Yesterday at work I was feeling my usual self for much of the work day. then around afternoon, I felt a bit uncomfortable, then more uncomfortable, then sort of painy, and finally gripping my desk very firmly as I smiled at trustees and waited for the seconds to go by to let me go home and find some cranberry juice. Turns out I have a urinary infection:p Not a bad one, and I seem to be fighting it off pretty well, but bad enough for me to call in sick today. I've been making and drinking LOTS of herbal tea. I've been loading last night's dinner and today's breakfast with lots and lots of garlic and rosemary for the natural antibiotics. Later on today I'm off to the local grocery for more cranberry juice...
It's just a little annoying, this whole thing flared up so fast. At least I've been trying to take advantage of the time off, doing some laundry and knitting a while and cosying up on the couch with yet another vat of herbal tea and watching a video or two. I could use a catch-up day anyway. Too bad it comes with the price of staying awfully close to the bathroom today. But at least it seems pretty self-treatable so far, according to my little Medica book of "Helpful symptoms of bodily-doom and what you can do about it." (I love this book--though it's great for feeling hypochondriac symptoms while going through all the illnesses. Just getting to the lice section makes my very very clean head extremely itchy. *shudder*)
Anyway, it's dark and gloomy out again...perfect for a day on the couch with a blanket. I'm gonna take advantage of that today.
