msfledermausApril's birthday party last night was incredibly funny. I arrived early at the CC Club to get a bite to eat. Ah, the CC Club. Almost immediately some drunk guy started pestering me, and the bartender had to throw him out. Soon the Birthday Girl dropped in with her entourage, and we got down to the business of giving her tribute. April told us all repeatedly, "I only want eggs this birthday, okay? Just eggs. Nothing fancy." Nothing fancy, you say? Muahahahahaha!!! A couple of her friends hit on the genius idea to get lots of little plastic eggs and filled them full of things like Post-its and shoe laces and quarters for the juke box and googly eyes...and more googly eyes...altogether there were at least 3 big eggs full of googly eyes. April gleefully covered the table, and when she found the egg with the crazy-glue in it, we had to physically restrain her from glueing eyeballs to the table...
And there was cake. Holy crap was there cake...someone had brought a cake done up like an Easter basket, complete with chocolate eggs and peeps and sugar-grass, with "Happy birthday, April" written in pink icing on one of the eggs. It looked like the Easter Bunny threw up on it, the cuteness was that aggressive. So of course we all loooooooved it...
I left a little early, since I was getting tired, but it was such a nice night, even though at the buss stop I ran into another drunk guy and seriously considered poking him with a big metal knitting needle so he'd go away...Happily my bus came, so there was no need...
