I see recently that the occasional faux livejournal blog has been commenting on my site with an ad or something totally inappropriate. There's one in the last post I put up, and I'm starting to get annoyed by it. I guess I'll have to give the LJ people a quick email, asking if there's better ways to block unwanted comments. I don't want to go friends only, though, since various non-lj friends check this site sometimes...Or I can just make fun of the obviously fake stuff, and have you all help me? I'm really a little nonplussed here...

Anybody out there have some good advice?

I get them too, but rather rarely. I just delete them and I don't know if the LJ comrades can help much. Sorry, not a lot of help.

I would report the fake LJ. If enough people do that, I bet the account will be deleted.

You can report fake LJs as spam, and I think you can set the default comments to screen all, or screen all non-friends.

As for the inappropriate stuff- I'm sorry. I'll try to tone it down ;)

I just got one of those a little while ago. When you click "delete comment", one of the options is to ban the person, and another is to mark the comment as spam. :)
