I was kinda tense this morning since I had a dentist appointment I wasn't too thrilled about...but it turned out to be much less of a worry than I thought it was going to be. Like many people, I'm kind of phobic about the whole Professional Maus-Poking-with-surgical-tools thing.I always keep having to jolly myself through doctor visits anyway, especially after the last operation I had. (I reasoned, whatever the dentist would have to do to me would be really weak in comparison to my honkin' big scar.) But it's all cool; I don't even need anitibiotics. There's nothing quite like the relief of leaving a doctor or dentist office on a good note:)

Anyway, I'd taken a sick day for the appointment, so I used it to catch up at home. I did a grocery run, did laundry, watched "Sid and Nancy", had a nap...now I'm finishing a gutcreature for a cow-irker with a little front pouch and a tinier creature inside. It's very cute. I made it fuzzy blue and yellow brains. This is the kind of productivity I can really get behind...

...And oddly enough, a very big help this morning was LauraPalmer putting up the long version of Duran Duran's "Wild Boys" earier today. Who knew that 80's nostalgia could be so comforting? Youtube is the best, I tellya...it's so cool I get to catch up with all the stuff I didn't see as a kid and wanted to. Between Youtube and Wikipedia, I feel like a better educated, happier person. Need to look up history on Marie Antoinette and Caligula? Wiki's got my back. Need a Switchblade Symphony video? Youtube has all the eyeliner and doll hair I'll ever need, in 3 minute chunks. Truly the age we live in has it's moments...

Now I should do something more down to earth and take my wash off the line, and polish my notes on the union negotiations for tomorrow. But thank you, oh thank you sweet computer, for making things more bearable...
