msfledermausThere's this beautiful storm this morning...nice and rainy, with thunder and lightning. It's almost a soothing storm, if that makes sense. It helped me catch up on the sleep I desperately needed.
I turned my neck funny this morning and must have strained it; it's a misery whenever I turn my head right. I coated it with arnica and gulped down some Ibuprofin. It's gonna be one of those kind of physical days, I can tell. Arrrgh...
I'm almost finished reading,"The Diamond Age" by Neal Stephenson. Neal Stephenson is addictive like crack-coated peanut brittle. I had to force myself physically to put the book down before bed last night. Every little girl should have a magic book to help her through childhood,in my opinion...
My garden is giving me tomatoes and basil, which taste really good with the eggs our chickens lay. I've been feeding the chickens lots of extra greens, like onion tops and basil stalks. I like to think I'm pre-flavoring the eggs for later:) One chicken in particular is immensely funny...her name is Julia, and she's figured out how to hop over the tops of the chicken jungle-gym we have set up for them. She then sneaks out and plays in Peaty's garden. I've found her a few times now, when I come to feed the rest of the birds--just wandering in the back yard and clucking to herself. I've developed the habit of feeding the rest of the chickens a little first so Julia is anxious to get back into the coop, then scooting her inside and rewarding her with a cracker or something. Chickens are super funny, I tellya...
I bought more roving to spin...and now it's cool enough to spin some of it. Sweet, sweet gleeeeee!
And there we are, more or less...
