Even more fun with Cow-irker Gail...
Oct. 26th, 2008 09:27 pm...After a brief but rewarding day at the Jade Mines, I had Cow-irker Gail over for dinner, chocolate and doodling with markers. She made an adorable pumpkin card for her little niece, and I made this:

Then we goofed around in the Rainy Day Craft Room, and I showed her how the whole spinning thing works...taking the washed wool, carding it until fluffy, explaining about dyes, matching it with a fun roving or thread or weird thing, and then spun some mohair locks and sparkly bits I carded with a soft brown merino with some chocolate wool for contrast...

We started playing with fun names for yarn skeins...names like "Hobbit-foot hair" "Fairy Dust-Bunnies" "Troll's Beard" "Dumbledore's Dreadlocks" and "Satan's Chest-Hair" I think for the stuff I've got on the bobbin,"Fairy Dust-Bunnies" wins out, though I *have* to spin one called "Dumbledore's Drealocks" if it kills me...
I love hanging out with Cow-irker Gail...She is eeevil, fruit of the De-vil, and I love it...
