My best friend is an actress and former dance instructor. She has helped me with plenty of moral support during my recent divorce stuff.

I have regular friends, good friends, and a select few that fall into the category of "Best". I remember when I was a kid, you could only have one best friend.

The friends in the "Best" category know my insides. They love me despite all my quirks and moods. They can read my face and know when something is wrong. Some of them are experts at guessing my mood from an email, even if I try to mask it. They will go out of their way occasionally to send that little note that reminds me how much they care about me.

If I think of more, I'll post again :)

I only have a couple very close friends... the one I would put in the best category has been my life for the last five years. I know she'll always be there for me no matter how our relationship is defined. She is the friend I never thought I'd find. I'm very grateful.

I have one best friend. I love her more than anything in the world. In fact, she really is more my sister. Her daughter is my niece. She couldn't be more my sister if she was born to my mother.

We have been friends since high school, and to this day, I swear no one gets me as well as she does, and I her. There is NOTHING this woman doesn't know. We have one of those psychic things going on too. We finish each other's sentences. We think of each other at the same times. we have a tendency to talk over each other and have no problem understanding what the conversation is about. once her fiancee walked into the room during one of these conversations and just stared at us. We stopped talking...

"What?"
"No wonder you two have communication issues, you're always talking at the same time!"
"Yeah, well WE know what we're talking about, and that's all that matters! SO THERE!"

We used to say early in the friendship that we wished that we were either gay, or one of us was a guy because we felt like we would've made a perfect couple. (we were both very single at the time, and no there was never any monkey business) now sisters is good enough!!

I never had a friendship even close to that in the 6 years I lived in Colorado. so that was enough for me to move back....and people give me so much shit for moving back here, but they never stopped to wonder why i did.

One of my best friends from college found out he was gay after moving out west to get his PhD. He fell in love with an artist/psych major who he lived with for six years. He lost his lover to AIDS seven years ago and is now living with the virus himself... I so want someone to find a cure or at least a vaccine to prevent this hell for others... we rarely talk or write, but when we do, the intervening time evaporates and we are brothers again...

I love that when it happens...
(Not the virus part of course; I lost a few friends that way myself. I miss them. I also want to find a way to make it stop killing people we all love.)
