I had a grand day hanging out with Liz all day...We stopped at a yarn store, then went to La Cucaracha, which has fantastic Mexican food. Then after a brief stop at the Textile Center, we went back home to the Maushaus to do some spinning. Liz had just come to an agreement with Peaty over the price of his spinning wheel, so I showed her what all the bits did. I'd already taught her how to use a drop spindle, so most of the real trick was keeping the wheel going and making sure the tension was just right. Liz is a natural--She spun some very cool black alpaca and two-plied it with some purple mohair yarn she picked up on the clearance shelf at the yarn shop. I was a very pleased Sensei of Spinning:) Since she got to take the wheel home earlier than planned, Liz was a happy, happy lady...and I have more space in the Rainy Day Craft Room again:)

Peaty stopped by for a while, caught us all up on the gossip, and showed me lots of yarn and such he'd brought over for me...and some roving I had to throw out right away, since it have a creepy-crawlie living in it. I just got done re-cedaring most of the Rainy Day Craft Room, just in case... when it comes to wool storage, paranoia pays off... Anything I thought I could salvage went into the freezer to stay for a few days. A couple of the balls I salvaged were yarn I'd spun for him when I was just starting out, so I was a bit miffed. Humph.

I gotta say, though...man, it feels good to have my Hester back in working order. I've spun two big skeins of two ply yarn with her, and I've been just so contented...I'm incredibly thankful that we could fix her properly:)
