I was a lucky, lucky girl and ran into Ben the Neighbor on the bus. He'd been trying to call me to see if I wanted a green beer on the way home and maybe to watch the parade together. I couldn't hear him over the bus noises, but happy fortune smiled on us, and we set off to try to wedge ourselves into a booth somewhere...no dice there. Instead, we stood on the street and cheered as the parade went by, catching (and sometimes ducking) candy and generally having fun...

We made our way home and had a big fun social thing with Peaty and Rocky and Matt and Liz and Nick and Miss Kitty. I read Liz and Nick's tarot, and after some fortification with homemade french fries we started a bonfire in the firepit down the block. It was a lovely lovely evening, and I'm so happy there will be more of it now the weather's warming up...

And Ben has a new, fun project: Gothic for Goths, in film format! I am happy to present you with Lesson Number Two: Where is my Chupacabra?

Too bad Ben isn't on LJ. I'd tell him that Gothic for Goths is the most fun I've had since I started Old English in graduate school. More episodes, please!

He's got a whole series lined up, and I'm helping with fun things for him to translate. *evil grin*

He does read my blog though, and I bet he'll put it up on Facebook too, just to spread the beauty that is the Gothic language:)

Where is Lesson 1, by the way?

Ben put Lesson Two up first; Lesson 1 isn't finished just yet. But it should be ready very soon. I'm more excited about some of the later lessons; in one of them he translates, "The Goths love David Hasselhoff!"
