A little sunburned but happy...
May. 3rd, 2009 07:28 pmI just got back from the May Day Parade a while ago...Even though there was an awful accident where someone got run over by the first float in the parade, the whole afternoon was breathtakingly lovely. The ceremony was the best one I'd ever seen, with an eagle that appeared as people were blessing the four directions, and a heated sea-battle between the Sun's outrigger canoes and Big Business mounted on hobbyhorses and rowed around by men in stovepipe hats. Matt and my new neighbor Karen went with me, and we had a very happy time...
Now I'm relaxing inside, after a bit of sitting with the neighbors outside. My back patio has been rechristened, "The Pait-cho"...and now even I'm saying it. Peaty's putting new bricks down for a coffee nook next to the chicken coop, and people keep dropping by to visit Vera the Goat and Yeti the Baby...
I feel better than I have in weeks.
Oh, and for all of you that have been following Ben the Neighbor's Gothic for Goths lessons, I have a treat for you: Lesson Number 3 is ready, complete with various background noises from Fatima the dove, discussions about eyeliner, and how to tell someone your fancy black underwear is chafing...
