A short list of things tied together by angel food cake...

I'm full of beef stir-fry and strawberries with angel food cake. *blissful sigh*

The cake was eaten out on the patio, facing the gardens and the chicken coop. I had Gaily-Waily and Matt over, and I made dinner while she brought the dessert...

I poured a little of Ben the Neighbor's maple syrup onto the angel food, and got to tell Ben how great it was, on the patio, while stuffing my face with cake.

Before there was cake, Gaily Waily and Matt and I sat in the living room playing with the bunneh. Shamu the bunneh got no cake at all, which is sad. (I did give him a hefty chunk of carrot,though.)

The apple tree out in the front yard is frosted with huge white flowers, which smell divine. Frosted. You know. Like a cake...

We all chatted outside on the patio, having a lovely time and giggling over our empty, empty cake bowls...

I took the tops of the strawberries we used to decorate the cake, and fed them to the chickens. The chickens also got no cake at all, but unlike Shamu would totally have devoured it all...

It was Mother's day today, and I played telephone-tag with my mom a bit. I also bought her a nice present, which I can give her when I see her next. If I was a better daughter, I'd have bought her a HUGE angel-food cake, since she loves it so. Maybe there's still time.

This weekend, I went to Shepherd's Harvest, and bought tons of beautiful wool, in fluffy colors and textures. I also got to see the goats, and the sheep, and many, many angora bunnies. The bunnies were velvety soft and fluffy and luscious...like...like...oh, you know...




So there you are, and I still have half an angel-food cake to get to, eventually...I fear eventually is sooner than I think. It was just that good...

I saw your neighbor at the Mill City on Saturday and nearly confronted him on his lack of response to my interest in maple syrup!

It's wise...she's a tiger, that one...a satin-voiced, super-nice tiger...

I'll remind the boys. I bet they just got overwhelmed--Ben's dealing with student finals, and Peaty's been goat-focused this week. Or Peaty should be at the next market too, since he's working there--if you don't see him, hang out by the Black Cat booth, since they're neighbors too. One way or another, we'll get you the goods...

I played phone tag with my mother, too. The first three calls I made, early in the AM EDT and very early in the morning PDT, I didn't get her. She called back later in the day, though. It's funny, because my mother gets very upset if her children don't observe these occasions perfectly. (I once sent a card that arrived late; big crisis.)

If the bunny in Matt's photo is representative of the rest of the bunnies you encountered, I don't know how you survived all the cuteness.

Please do, and if it's after 6:30ish or so on any given night, check the back of the pretty yellow house with the turret. We're in all probability hanging out in the back, chasing chickens and whatnot...

As for the cuteness, I guess I'm building up a tolerance, what with Shamu cute-ing me every day. This morning he was nose-bumping me for pets...so very cute, right there...
