Rest and warmth...
May. 20th, 2009 07:24 amLast night I was just too warm...I was hot and sweaty when I came home from workies with my sack of groceries and my big scary orange bag. I glugged tons of water and lazed on the couch for the most part, when I wasn't lazing in the tub...
This week I've been dragging books back and forth to work--"Valley of the Dolls" and "Hannibal."
Oddly enough, they both deal with women whose surroundings are full of people out to ruin them, either on purpose or as a side effect of their own desires. One book shows the women coping with barbituates, the other, with a sinister antihero/mentor with a chafing dish. Tempting as it may be to drag a chafing dish to work sometimes, I have to pass on that one, alas. It's a shame, I have all these shallots here too...
Otherwise? I'm looking forward to a four day weekend. I'm burnt out, I need a longish break. One more day of the Mines, and I can have it. I just have to chug along a little while longer before I get the carrot at the end of the stick...
