Workity and whatnot...

msfledermausThis week is kind of hard...I'm losing Sideburns Mike at work. He got a gig doing illustrative work, and asked to go to part time. My job couldn't swing it, so he handed in his notice. Tomorrow's his last day, so we're taking him out for dinner after work and buying him huge exotic bubble teas with booze and whatever else we can make him eat or drink...
He's promised to hang out with me and the Gaily-Waily, even though he's leaving us at the Jade Mines. That'll be good--I still get to hang onto Sideburns Mike as a pal. But the Mines will be a sadder place without him doing that funky dance where he waggles his arms back and forth...
It also puts a shadow over my work life--Mike is/was one of the Union Stewards. If nobody else steps up, I offered to take it again, as Gail's wing-woman. Hoooooboy...On the bad side, I'm really not that excited about being union steward again. On the good side, I have a lot more practice now, and I'd have another steward I could work really well with, instead of having to active argue with. Well, we'll argue, but you know...it'll be funny arguing:)...
So there you are. And meanwhile, I'm full of pasta and watching Shamu romp around the living room. On Thursday morning he has his operation scheduled...he's being neutered. Poor little guy. At least the vets that are doing it have lots of bunny-experience, and they're grooming him and clipping his toenails for free. But as a Bunny-Mommy, I'll be fretful the entire day until I get him back...
*pats cute unsuspecting little creature...*
