Holy crap--the weather took a huge turn for the worse half an hour ago. It appears *something* touched down by the highway, and things are thrashed across the street. We think it was a tornado. They don't usually hit in urban areas, between the high buildings and the heat islands...but sometimes they do. One of the guards says she saw it, throwing trash around outside...

We moved everybody into the safe areas and stayed put until the sirens stopped, so everybody here at the Jade Mines is safe, including me. I called the Island, and they're okay too. Thank goodness. Part of me wants to go outside to check out the damage down the street. That would be the stupid part...and I'm not listening to that part right now...

We lucked out. There *was* a tornado across the street! It practically went up to the door and knocked!

There was another one down by my folks. I called Mom, and she didn't know what I was talking about until I made her check the news...happily everybody's okay.

That's right, he works at the convention center, and that thing hit it like the fist of an angry god...I'm so glad he's okay!!!
