I found a magazine photo of a Leonora Carrington painting. ("The Cockcrow") I think I'll take it home and mount it somewhere by my drawing table.

I read an article about the old Roman sculpting trick of using the bust of a discredited person (often Imperial) to make a new bust of another person. (often also imperial, an example was a bust of Caligula altered to the face of Augustus.) Also portraits of unfavored rulers were often mauled by chisels and set out in public as a reminder of their maligned status. (The term was "Damnicus Memorae" if I remember it properly.) That's why you often see Roman busts without ears, noses, etcetra...they were cutting off the noses to spite the faces:)
So now you have a History lesson for the day...

I hung out with Rob a little bit--his Nessie postcard didn't make it to Scotland in time for it to be sent back in to AZ Gallery, so he had a bright fistful of postcards with high towers in cheerful 50's colors...apparently he's going to paint Superman in them. *grin* He never fails to amaze me.

I also got lettuce everywhere...and still have some pink lemonade left.

Ms Eff. *Schluuuurp!*
