It's hot again. I'm not enjoying it much, and neither is the Wee Orca, poor creature. I should see if he might like his own swimming pool or something.

I shouldn't grumble...Matt and Erin and I went to LaGrassa tonight to try out their pasta. Veeeeery nice stuff. It made me want to make lots of homemade pasta and exciting sauces to sauce them with. Yumcious stuff...

Earlier today I did a Ben-The-Neighbor style commando-cleaning raid on the Maushaus. The dustbunnies were rounded up and carted away with extreme predjudice, while the actual bunny snoozed in his hutch. There was laundry. There was dusting. There was hand-mopping, and nails, and by the time I was done I needed a cold bath and a sitdown with a lemonade to take me away from the house-cleaning high...

And now I'm getting tired...the day is catching up to me, methinks.

Bunny cooling solutions

Our friend Britta the restaurateur receives some absurd number of ice packs a day -- after all, the cheeses for her cheese plate (ludicrously expensive, but magnificent) have to be kept cool in transit somehow.

If you'd like, I could probably drop by the place and scoop up a dozen. I should say as a caveat that they are paper and foil, and there is a small potential for leakage. This may preclude their use to cool living creatures. Nonetheless, they are very useful.

Actually, I got some very good advice from other rabbit-people. A frozen water bottle in the corner of the hutch, wrapped in a towel so they can lay on it. Shamu likes to hug his. It seems to do the trick!
