Yesterday was absoutely grand...
Feb. 17th, 2011 07:24 amI'm still pretty happy from a good day yesterday. Why was it good? There were so many things I'll need to make a list...
The sun was out, and it's been warming up. Everybody's looking at gardening catalogs, salivating.
There was a pizza party at work...Free pizza is always a very, very nice thing.
The retired director of the Textile department was in, and she tracked me down to say how much she liked the textile piece I put in the Staff art show in the hall. Coming from her, that was one of the biggest artistic compliments I have ever had in my life. It's like Keith Richards telling you how much he likes a guitar lick you just did. I had to do a little victory-dance away from the cameras after she'd gone.
Also, another staff member who natters with me about knitting came by to return the biggest knitting needles I own, and showed me the cool asymmetrical vest she'd made. Awesome stuff.
There was a Union meeting after work, and it went quite well. People were asking good questions, and I feel like I was a little helpful here and there. That's a good feeling.
A coworker gave me a lift home since we were all running late. We also had some fun running around the Wedge, looking at apples and henna and elaborate organic bath goop.
When I got home, I found a big brown shopping bag filled to the brim with bags of angora wool, all for me! It's over a pound of fluff, dropped off by Shamu's previous home, the Pi Hollow Rabbitry. I was the victim of a drive-by woolling!!
So there you are, and I'm spinning beautiful light-brown angora this morning and feeling very happy and lucky...
