Weekend highlights...

...Dinner, movies, and a 1 am run to Sexworld for last-minute wedding gifts with friends. (Don't look at me like that, Sheesh! They didn't take *My* recommendations, anyway. Moooooooo...)
...Exploring beautiful Sparta, Wis. and admiring the Edwardian guy with yellow pants riding the velocipede. (It was a big metal statue. Nobody knows what it's there for.)
...Wishing I had time to go to Milwaukee to visit Freekee and Cynnerth. (Pout)
...The happy couple, and their pleasantly short wedding, incredible heat and (sadly) amusingly horrible musicians. Ow.
...Getting in a dance with the groom to the tune of "Play that funky music, White boy"
...A frenzied rush from the hotel right at Check-out time, and a nourishing(?) breakfast at Country Kitchen. (I felt ill for miles.)
...Drinking more Sport-Drink-stuff in one day than I have for 8 years. (ulllg.)
...Watchng too much dull Cable TV, and being torn between sympathy and irritation for a friend who's desperately been looking for work. I feel guilty for not being supportive enough, but also annoyed, drained and increasingly more resentful. I'm actually a little
glad i'm at work right now. There are problems, but they're all workable. I can make rent and bills. An increasing amount of friends can't right now. I fell selfishly guilty and relieved at the same time.

Ms Eff. How was your week?

One was getting rid of some bath goop a relative gave her that she didn't want ,so I'm giving some sandalwood gel a new home.

Another coworker had extra fruit he shared with me. (MMMMm..cherries, grapes and watermelon.)

I am spoiled. Also very grateful.

And I'm awfully glad peope liked Maus Noir..I'll have to do more of those soon, just for fun.

Love,

MS Eff, storytellin' flyin' critter.

...When I lived in Montana, 4 blocks from the peacock farm where I was involved in the Mysterious Cow-Paisley event of 1994, (but that's another story) I had a pal named Stig. Stig was an expatriate Australian from Sydney, who would amaze and revolt us with Things He'd Eaten..(Fried eggs and beets in hamburgers, etcetra...and I fed him gefilte fish once and he kept a most stoic face as he chewed and chewed and chewed.) One day, on a day that was about as hot as this one, I came over to visit and he offered me some vegemite on toast. (He'd explained the concept--you ate it to get salts and b vitamins in your body when it was very hot.) He very kindly warned me that it was *extremely* salty.

So of course after examining and poking the grey-brown sludge suspiciously, I took a *big* bite...I remember thinking, 'Hey, this isn't bad-OWWOWACKSALTYYYHUAAAAAGAGGGGWATTTTTTTTERRRRRR!!!" I ran to the sink and gulped no less than 4 big glasses of water, one right after the other, while Stig clutched his stomach and laughed hysterically...

I got even. I had a friend feed Stig lutefisk.

He moved back to Sydney after I came home to Minneapolis. I miss him and his damned vegemite to this day.
