A coworker gave me some cool Japanese kid posters left over from After Hours. So far my favorite's the hamsters. (One looks like Eric Cartman from South Park, with a little green hat. *Hamster voice: "Screw you guys; Ah'm gonna go home an' eat some PIE!")
I'm easily amused, that's for sure.
Last night was a little more animated at Curry Night...one of Shaun's friends was praising the New Tax Cut and the rebate I lovingly call, "Bush's Bribe." The table was in an uproar. Steve (the friend) then challenged the table at large, "Well, are you going to send it back to the government if you don't like it?" More hoots followed--"No, I'm using it to supplement my unemployment since I got laid off!" "What, and watch it go to pay for Star Wars?" "I'm sending mine to the Paul Wellstone campaign where it might do some good for a change" Steve isn't a bad guy--just a little simplistic, all he saw was the money, not the fact that the lions share of the money was going elsewhere and paying for things even he didn't approve of...
Anyway, enough politics for one morning. *Yaaaaawn* Oh, wait wait, tha's not true. Get this--The Klan is going to rally on our state Capitol steps this 25th...with the National Socialists. Apparently they're trying to get a foothold in Minnesota. State officials have been thinking about not allowing the anit-rally that's shaping up because of the very likely possibility of a riot. (I do think they have to let the protestors protest, though; they're covered by the same law that the Klan is.) Personally I think it would be funniest if there was a protest somewhere else besides the Capitol, so the Klan would have no audience. silence can be golden, bebeh...*grin*
Soooo..what's new where you are?
Ms Eff, not exactly Edward R. Murrow...
