(I like to say S'plosion...Yes, I'm weird, please drive through.)

I got a call yesterday at 7:30 in the morning from our head building engineer, telling me that since the Guthrie had overnight become a multi-level swimming pool due to a water main breaking, we didn't need to come to work. (50,000 gallons, they're saying. Happily nobody got hurt, and they're still trying to figure out how much damage there is.)

So yesterday I stayed home and nursed my cold, and followed the news.
(I'm almost better now. Sniff sniff.) In a way it was personally a good thing to get an extra day off. I'd gotten some bad news, and hadn't been sleeping well the night before. I'm more rested now. *wry grin*

Today we have heat and electricity, but *no water* We've got bottled stuff and the next-door Allianze building for restrooms. The place is deserted, since neither the Guthrie or the Walker are open today, or this weekend.
It's really strange. *Takes swig from bottled mocha* I hope no one worried to much about me; my access is still tenuous when I'm not at work.
(I still have to find a faulty inner modem and take it out of my tower. I'm a little reluctant to start ripping chunks out of a machine I'm not too familiar with.)

Ms Eff, looking at the crater they're digging next door with awe and wonder...

...a repeating loop of the Chemical Brothers "Music--Response".
(I heard it a lot when I went to Osaka on a vacation.)

My brain is trying to tell me to use up some vacation time before I forfeit some of it, I think. (No, brain, I CAN'T afford to go to Thailand right now, so don't even suggest it. One night in Bangkok does NOT make the hard man humble, okay? I can just about afford sushi and maybe a movie or some dancing or something...rassing frassin brain...)

Pieces of pizza...pizza for free...

(it's not here yet, but soon, so very soon...)

Meanwhile, even though the economy isn't exactly thriving, I am drooling over the goddamn Anthropologie catalog...again. Mustn't...covet...pretty...lanterns...
*pages through*

Kinuji pillows...victorian beaded lamps...Metal mirrors from Tuscany...Bad, bad Maus!!! Put that down, right now!!! *Pathetic whine*

(I know better...I really do.)

Question: What will my weekend be like?

Card: The Bodach.

The Bodacious Bodach

Meddling. Tampering. Sabotage. "Helpful fixing." Order.

Starter Reading: Someone somewhere is meddling uninvited in the issue. It may be you, it may be someone else. See if you can work out who it is and begin to untangle the messy web they have woven of confusion and disorder and misunderstanding (so much worse than our own natural disorder). It will take great firmness to get this person to keep his sticky fingers out of your affairs (or you to keep yours out of the affairs of others). The amount of tact you use in sorting this out is up to you, but the Bodach-type person doesn't usually notice hints. Remember, whoever it is says they mean well. They may even believe that. It is very hard to believe that the Bodach's bad results are always 'just an accident,' as he insists. He may believe this, but we don't have to. The word 'sabotage' come to mind. If you donÕt want the Bodach hanging around looking for ways to help, make sure you donÕt leave things in the wrong place or loose ends so he finds bodacious things to do with them.

.....Good advice, no matter what the circumstances...but I guess it depends whether or not I myself might be the bodach or not....
