Fire--take two

3;00 am
3;00 am, goddammit!!!!

Our main fire alarm went off at 3 am. I had the drill down this time--grabbed clothes, shoes, keys, wallet, coat. This time I didn't smell the smoke until about the 3rd floor stairwell, and started to moan, "shit oh shit oh shit not again not again..."

I hit the first floor coughing and choking on smoke, along with a small handful of my neighbors and some moron going, "Like, chill, lady," In a few minutes I was joined by Ben the neighbor with his kitty in a carrier. The moron also joined us. "look, like, chill out; someone on first floor's couch was on fire; it's out now." We allll looked at each other, then at him. Not a one of us went back inside. The firetrucks came, (again) and gave us the all-clear to go back inside and (finally just now) shut off the alarm.


I just bet I know which apartment it was downstairs, too...one of the ones with reallly unsavory neighors in it. I am so very,very , very pissed off. But I'm okay. I'm just very very awake, and I have a rough day ahead tomorrow...

Seriously sleepy...

Ooog...time for the caffeine drip in the arm...

And maybe some thorazine when I get back from work.

If ANYONE gives me a rough time, I'll just tell them, "Look, my building had a damn fire at 3 am last night, so you're lucky you have me at all today." and if that doesn't shut anyone up I'll drop a box of copy paper on their foot.

Rassing frassing...don't mess with groggy Mauses, grrr....

Hopefully your Monday will be a good one. Nice and relaxing and full of free hot chocolate. If it isn't, it should be.

More fire fun....

A coworker had his popcorn in the microwave too long while I was eating lunch.

We had to put t out in the sink. Smoke everywhere. I smell like..
*sniff sniff*
burnt popcorn.
