I am Jack's early 80's Eurotrash nostalgia wave. :P

I'm grateful this week's almost over...I feel like I've been slogging through about 10 miles of mud and saerkraut and unidentifiable sludgy bits. But the end of the sludge is a'comin'. Saturday I'm going to see some friends of mine at the Terminal bar have a CD party. (One's a coworker I've known for years, but he works nights and I work days.) Mostly I'll be hiding from the snowy muck on the ground and working on a doll and ferreting around for more yarn to play with.
(I have quite a bit now, but...nothing blaaa-ack. *whiine*)

I've been doing many, many situps. I'm so proud. Lately I've just felt the need to stretch out my muscles and maybe get some endurance back. When it's nicer out I can go for more of those long rambly walks I like, with a sketchpad.
*frowns at light snow on the ground*

Milk:"Stop the Violence!"
Cheese:"Leave it to us experts!"

I should get the URL for Evan dorkin's House of fun and see what's new there...but I'm feeling lazy. Type it into a search engine, and you won't be disappointed, I swear.

I just finished watching the copy of "The Pillow Book" that my friend Peter lent to me....

*collects self, picks jaw up from the carpet*

Fantastically, incredibly good. It's making me want to go get some tempura or something and try calligraphy on my feet and knees. Peter said when he lent it to me, "This is soooooo your kind of movie!" It took me forever to finally watch it--I wanted to be in the right kind of mood, a mood divorced from the daily news and work and worries. I'm glad I waited.

*Hugs videocassette*
I have to have my own copy now.

In fact, I think it'll be time soon to add a lot of things to my library; videotapes and cd's and books and comics. I haven't bought much lately, and this is what I like to spend my extra pocket money on when I can. (Mostly the books...my cd and video collections are humble with the occasional gem, but my bookshelves are at their limits....again.) I've been very stingy with myself lately. Bad news does that to me; sends me into a very miserly protective sort of mind-set. This weekend I'll go out and buy myself some treats. I bet there's lots of new editions of my favorite comics I haven't seen yet.

*drools at the happy thought*

And maybe I should go get another blank book...and some carving tools so I can finally carve my chop since I know what I'd like it to be now. (I'll beg help from Ben the Neighbor's calligraphy knowledge:)
