*puts feet up on a friend's cat*
Ahhhh, that's better...

It's been a long week getting used to the new schedule, but today is a good day for errands and things. I helped a friend pick out new glasses this morning, and we're having lunch later, and dinner's with another couple of friends. I really don't think of myself as a social butterfly these days, but now that I look at it...I suppose I am a social animal after all. This is a good thing...

I also had time to mentally bolt the latest copy of Discovery while I was waiting for my friend's checkup to finish. The real trouble there is not jumbling the information together...dinosaurs did NOT have recent evolutions in brain functions 5'000 years or so ago while trying on new lenses and discovering Leonardo Davinci's workshop from an Egyptian scroll found in a garbage dump...you see my problem:)

anyway, because I have a day off and most of you don't today, I will attempt to have at least one good nap in your honor. No really, it's okay, it's the least I could do for all you've done for me....

*hoists cat off head...and again. And again...*

...There is a light snoring noise coming from the snoogled form of Ms Maus, curled up on the couch with a blanket...

...and she dreams. Dreamy wonderful dreams juuuust for you...with tikis and sand, on a beach with umbrellas and the surf whooshing gently yards away. There is a table with a bamboo steamer full of little dim sum mini-bao, and pizza, and sushi.
A large cold glass pitcher of Mai-Tais sits nearby, and on the row of deck chairs sits your favorite Mausi, clad in a black sarong and covered with as much sunscreen as humanly possible....

"See, see I told you I'd have a nap for you. And what a nap!!! Come sit down on a beach towel when you get a minute, willya? Just don't kick sand in the pizza, okay?"

Ms Mausi takes a huge bite and sighs happily...as a troop of fire-juggling hula dancers sway elegantly in the background to the sound of ukeleles attempting to play Bauhaus songs...

"Okay okay, so it's a little weird for a daydream...I can't help it! I mean well...you want another gyoza?"

And the umbrellas on the beach shift colors from their original restful pink to black with blood-red hibiscus...and the band in the background does the Island version of "sing this corrosion to me..."
