Always good to have a read before work...
Apr. 14th, 2006 07:21 am...I was reading "The History of Sex" this morning with my tea and breakfast. One of the most interesting things about this book is that it doesn't start with ancient human history--it starts with how some microbial species stumbled onto the process and started the long winding road to useful tools like DNA and RNA and chromasomes and whatnot. I'm currently reading the part that talks about the biology of human gene cells and how the sex markers for certain cells are involved when it comes to lots of traits. Heh. I feel like a smarter Mausi already...I can hardly wait to get to some of the historical human stuff:)
Reading and working. Sleeping. Making something for dinner that isn't too challenging. Hot baths. Not much going on lately--I just feel like I'm working a lot. I did have a good hang-out on someone's front lawn with Mamichan, which felt really good. I think I need to budget some time on my days off to Not Do Stuff I Must Do...All work and no play, etcetra, etcerta.
But in the meantime, work calls me. I'll just look at all that lovely artwork and think of the likely beginnings of art--not just the beckoning of the spiritual self, but as sexual display to interested parties; "I have enough cleverness and energy to make a pretty thing!!! Ta daaaaah!!!"
I mean, we still do that. Okay, maybe it's just me:)
