Curry and more dreams...
May. 11th, 2007 07:08 am...I went to Peninsula with Matt and Erin last night for a little post-work curry. It's this Malaysian restaurant just down the street from the Jade mines. They make some very nice stuff; rich and complex. I gobbled down my green curry so rabidly I thought I was going to explode by the end.
And then of course bath and bed...but sleep just wasn't happening right away. First I kept getting telemarketer calls after 9. Thank the gods for caller id, but the phone ringing always annoys me. Then finally someone I wanted to talk to, which set me in a much better mood, but still not sleepy. Then of course, the triumphant return to the porch of the 24-Hour Party People. (They weren't as loud as last year; I think they've been told off a lot and they have a new neighbor right below them. I hope the neighbor whacks the ceiling with a broom and calls the landlord every time they act up.) Luckily the Queen of Stuff gave me some earplugs to try out and hey, presto! Quiet enough to sleep...though earplugs are weird feeling, sure enough. Between the noise, the earplugs and the curry my dreams got pretty interestingly horrible...
I dreamed my neighbors broke into my apartment to have a party and I was pissed off and scared I'd get into trouble. I dreamed about my alarm clock breaking and full of spiders, and I had to go to work. I dreamed of my new place and moving into it. Did I mention that apparently I've been dreaming of the new place on and off for years, before I even knew about it? It's true. Finally years and years of funny dreams are starting to snap into some kind of context. Sometimes people's minds go wandering into the subconscious...and when mine does, occasionally it brings something back. Usually just little snippets of places and events that my sleeping brain tries to make sense of...
Anyway, it's no wonder my brain is a jumble today. Maybe a day of work and then some better sleep without the super-early morning will fix me up a little...
