Return of the Chicken Whisperers...

...Things are looking up. I have new keys, I can get into my apartment without crowbar intervention, and Ben and Peaty are home! They got back yesterday afternoon, and last night we got a chance to catch up and fill each other in on the goings-on in the neighborhood. Peaty brought me this beautiful skein of Jacob's-sheep wool, all black and white and fluffy. It cries to be a warm hat with ear flaps:)

And of course, in the middle of the Catskills, Peaty finds a chicken in an AMC Parking lot. Or maybe the chicken finds him...Peaty seems to attract farm animals. (Insert crude joke here.) He gives the chicken to Ben's mom the Dairy Farmer, who makes it a nest in the barn, and it settles in and promptly lays an egg. But is that the end? Nope, Peaty decides Missy Mushu the Foundling Chicken needs friends, so they go off on a crazed chicken-hunt all over the village to pick up two more chickens to live in the barn with her. Now there's Missy Mushu, Lisa Lo Mein, and one other I can't remember because I was laughing so hard when Ben was telling me...

Oh god, I missed the boys. I'm so glad they're home:)

Working in the Jade Mines, goin' down down...

...I'm working a little late tonight...it's a bit weird to be here for dinner since I hadn't done it in a while, but it's not so bad. I've got some of the Early Morning Mafia here late to keep me good company while I run around in the clip-on tie and whatnot.

Meanwhile, we have lefse in the house since we're part of the Everything Scandinavian and Stuff theme for the city this year. Sadly, there's no tater-tot hotdish in the coffeeshop food case...*shakes head* Oh Cripes Marge, I dunno, the lefse looks so fancy in dat dere case, and it's so expensive! Maybe I just want a little coffee and some fro-yo...
