Annoying neighbors...
Oct. 30th, 2001 09:02 am...I'd gotten off the phone with a friend last night and was drifting off to sleep when I started to hear loud giggles and moans from the apartment across the hall. I tried to ignore if for a while and just go to sleep, but every time I'd get close, there'd be another bout of laughter and fake Kitty-noises. (??)
As I finally started to dream a little at 11:30 there was this series of giggling *shrieks* from the neighbors.
I got up, grabbed my kimono, and thumped the door.
The neighbor opened it and said, "I'm okay, there's no domestic disputes here!" and giggled. I wanted to reply, "I know, I could hear you goofing off for about 45 minutes...shut up, willya?" Instead I muttered something about being kept up and went back to bed.
So I'm still sleepy...
Work is very nervous today...I had to assure someone that some boxes left on our dock were our usual suppliers and not anything suspicious. The new report of the possibilities of a new terrorist strike are not sitting well here right now. I just got a perfectly innocuous package from Isreal that I'm eyeing with a speculative glance that wasn't there 4 weeks ago. (I just checked it; it's fine.) I'll be taking a couple of days off Thursday and Friday since it's somethng I haven't done in a while...it'll be a relief to get away from a little bit of the anxiety for a long weekend. (I'll still check in; I'll grab some coffee at the local Internet cafe and say howdy.)
Love, Ms Eff, still correcting typos from rubber-glove interference.
