Thwarted by apricots...
Dec. 13th, 2001 08:50 amI spent 20 minutes this morning desperately trying to open a new jar of apricot jam. (I'm usualy pretty good at getting jars open.) I twisted and twisted and twisted, used the textured rubber thing, (quit giggling!) banged the sides with a knife to break the seal, ran hot water over the jar, repeatedly stabbed the top of the lid with a pair of scissors, (I barely dented it--it was a tough jar!) and finally as I was about to forget about jam with my breakfast...it opened with an anticlimactic pop.
Grrrrr...French people and their tightly-sealed jars....it's all their fault...:)
I dreamed someone took me to this cool Voudoun botanica somewhere to help her combat this horrible magic foe. It was full of people and chairs and interesting painted murals and furniture. My job was to get some 3 by 5 canvasboard and paint one only yellow and one only green..I was painting the yellow one with an even brighter yellow sun and was figuring out heiroglyphs when I woke up.
(This is the kind of dream I get when I paint before bed. I may try to do the painting in real-life, just to make things interesting.)
...The end of the week is drawing near...Huzzah!!! Huzzah!!!!
