Last night there was another art critique at Gus Lucky's which I went to. It was great--we talked about the ghettoization of folk art and the treatment of illustration as an ignored stepchild in the art world, people played with the fairy doll and incense holder I brought, and I got to see some very talented people talk about what they thought about when they worked on a piece. Mmmmmmm...
I also got...two new doll commisions!! TWO! That's four now in a week and a half!! I know how I'm spending the weekend...and I love it!!!! *Happy dance of creative joy* I think when my home computer can support a pic, I should see what I can get for a doll on E-bay, to test the waters generally.
It's almost like now that all sorts of unhappy things have happened, now there's a wave of positive things cresting over me. It's very very odd. (Unless someone out there's working their mojo magic in my favor..Thank you, Fairy Gothmother!!!) Anyway, I am grateful and excited by it...

I think life's ups and downs make the overall experience very rich. (Not that I like the bad stuff any better for that, mind you.) And I can only say that kind of platitude because I'm a lucky lucky person...

Yes, yes, yes, you must do ebay! I keep saying I am going to do my wine tags and put those out there; but maybe I need just an actual website for that. Hm, maybe we need to get you a website to sell your dolls from. If you haven't already seen this you should: oneandonlydolls.com . You and I could pull that off, right? I need a class project and you need to send happee dollees into the world, yes?!!

I am hoping I get the same turnaround you are getting! Lately I have been feeling like it's going to have to be my turn pretty soon; so much bad stuff has gone on around me and I have been okay ... so ...

I think that's a cool idea--I have adobe 9.0 and photoshop and flash on my computer, but I still have to get the modem and the new monitor set up, and I'm still new to the programs. (I.e, don't know how to use them..D'ohhhh) I say we should think about something like that, indeedy!!! Let me know when you're free, girl! (I know it takes time to get a minute to yourself, so don't push your schedule too far!!)

I am officially on spring break after tomorrow's midterm so I may need to not look at a computer for a couple of days ... but yes, let's check the free time o meter and see what we see in the next few!!!
