*Heeheehee!*
Mar. 7th, 2002 01:27 pmA coworker and I were remembering all the things we did with our toys--beheading Barbie, dressing GI Joe in the Barbie prom dress,
making Boba Fett place nice with the Holly Hobby dollies...we laughed ourselves silly at lunch...I told someone about the Zombie Barbie I made with Frankenstein stitches that stalked and attacked other dolls...
What weird things did you do with whatever toys you had?

Date: 2002-03-07 02:41 pm (UTC)I'm not too worried about Barbie influencing her views of what women should be/are too much... she lives with myself and my mother, both strong, capable, smart, independant women who do all the jobs around the house regardless of whether they are traditionally male roles or not... :) I think the fact that Caitlin really wants to be a fire fighter, an astronaut, a vetrinarian, a dancer, a singer, an artist and a mommy all speak to her knowing that being a female doesn't mean she has to accept limits... :)

Date: 2002-03-07 07:46 pm (UTC)Then, when I realized that dollies just weren't doin' it for me... I started taking everything apart to see how it worked. Sometimes reassembly was successful, sometimes... well, not-so-much. But now I'm not afraid to take anything apart... except, well... maybe my cat.

Date: 2002-03-08 07:48 am (UTC)Besides that I don't really think I did anything really weird... I loved all my toys so much, and I kinda believed that they were actually alive, so I didn't have the heart to do anything mean to them:) When I was about 6-7 I had this thing with always kissing my teddy bear good night - but then I figured my other toys would get jealous, so naturally I had to kiss them too:) In the end I had a 30 minutes long ritual every night - I kissed everything from my teddy to the floor and the ceiling....LoL
Now wait -- that is weird! *laughs ass off* I also had this thing with always doing the same thing with my left hand as I did with my right hand... I gave it up pretty soon though, as I'm very right-handed LoL
