It's raining harder out now...

*does the happy damp Maus dance*

One of my bosses was showing me some great pictures of Lake Superior
durning the November Gales. Click here and click the picture saying "Big waves in Duluth" if you want to see how intimidating Superior can be.
(It's a huge, deep, beautiful expanse of lake....that can kill you deader than a freezy-pop if you fall overboard. *shiver*)

And i'm half done with a new doll at home. She needs her arms and legs attached and the wings and a paint touch-up, but it's looking good.

*walks across the floor making squishy noises*

Good morning, squishy Maus. *smile*

Those are some impressive pictures. Did you notice the force of wind and waves just bent all those light poles? *grin*

It also looks like it's about 140 miles from you to the nearest bit of lake. I don't think you can get more than 50 miles from the sea here.

Ever?
*wow*

That's impressive. I love the ocean...haven't seen it in a couple of years, but I sure love it.

Looking at a map, it might be 60 or 70 miles, but any way, not too far.

Looking at maps is fun, in a geeky sort of way. Did you know that you're actually nearer the Hudson Bay in Canada (about 750 miles) than the US east coast (about 1,000 miles)?

I know...Lots of Minnesotans go to Canada for holidays by the lakes. *grin*(Maps are cool, aren't they?) I usually get to Duluth a couple of times a year for Lake Superior. (Okay, I can't swim there, but it's really lovely and cool in the summer.)
