I'm de-gooped now:)
Dec. 5th, 2002 08:01 amThe hair doesn't look half bad, really.
*swishes it and smiles*
I've been doodling a bit at work lately--it's how I came up wih some of the new holiday cards I'm sending poeple. Strange spooky little people, grumpy people in Santa hats, and I did a sketch of a few cards from the Phantasmagoric Tarot for fun. all those stiches and button eyes:) It's making me want to try my hand at a spooky cloth dolly. Yeah, right--when I get a time machine and hit the Wayback to reserve a few hours...:P
I talked a bit to my blind date last night--it went really well. I'm not sure if we'll click at all romantically, but he sounds like a laugh riot to have as a friend..I can add him to my lovely Friend collection, in the little glass jars on my windowsill...heh heh heh...
Did I mention how lovely the snow was last night, walking in it to the store? Big fluffy flakes. I caught a few on my tongue.:)

Date: 2002-12-05 09:37 am (UTC)btw, what part of town do you live in? it sounds so wonderful to walk around on a nice night like that and i'm trying to picture it in my mind.
i lived in wayzata (bah!) from 12-18 years old. when i went to mcad i lived in several apartment and houses: 1. on 24th and hennepin, in the house right next to the synagogue and behind leeann chin express. 2. on upton ave just west of lake harriet 3. on stevens just north of 24th st, in the old victorian with the little tower right across the street from mcad.
Re:
Date: 2002-12-05 06:32 pm (UTC)I live right off Loring Park, so Uptown is about two miles southish from me:) So picture Loring park, headed toward the Wedge and this fantastic antique shop I'm addicted to full of curiousities, and Muddy Waters up the street a couple of blocks. And a dark cobalt sky lit up with christmas lights and headlights, and white snow swirling in eddies from the sky, landing on your shoulders and head and blwoing into your eyes and melting there....
Maaan, i have always loved that victorian--i know the one you're talking about. What was it like on the inside?
Re:

Date: 2002-12-05 08:37 pm (UTC)regarding the victorian, i just realized that was over 10 years ago! i graduated from mcad 1989, and lived in that house 1988-89. downstairs was 2 men that had a separate entrance. upstairs i shared with 2 other students. quite frankly, the inside needed work. the front porch had bad leaks so we couldn't keep much out there. the wood floor was in bad shape and there were some electrical issues. but it was still a beautiful house. i liked living there, i was always proud just to walk in the door. and imagine how nice it was to just walk across the street from classes and late nights in the studio! hopefully someone has since renovated it!
Re:
Date: 2002-12-06 05:44 am (UTC)Wowww..Yeah, a lot of the older houses need lots of work and love, and tend to be run by slumlords. I lived in something similar (But not as nice outside) in Dinkytown. I'm not sure if anyone's renovated your Vic, but I could try to look next time I'm in that neighborhood. (It's not very far from Loring, really.)

We have...rain...today. It's not even truly freezing rain, or i'd be ice-skating to work today. I'm completely baffled. So's everyone else.
