Day off today...
Feb. 17th, 2003 11:35 am...so I slept in to the strangest dreams..
I've started painting again with sumi-e' and some new acrylics I bought. Ben the Neighbor and I did some readings last night, and the Universe is being unsubtle about telling me metaphorically, "Go back to yer Knittin'." So I will, and I have. It's satisfying even when I screw up and have to fix bits of it as I go.
Meanwhile his fella Peter and I have inadvertently started some kind of happy present ritual. Every time we see each other one or the other of us has a present to give...I was gifted with a beautiful candle-in-holder last night, and I painted
a sumi' style autumn tree on my new watercolor paper to express my gratitude:)
At the dinner party I brought him and Ben some porcelain incense holders and some cherry blossom incense, and Peter brought a lovely black and orange scarf that reminded him of a skirt I like to wear. When will it end? Goodness,I'll be painting huge tapestries and he'll be fetching me huge candlabras....the horror!!! the decorative horror!!! (I hate it so, of course...can't stand it...is that pretty thing for me? Ooooh!)
Today I sift through clothing to find and wash pretty things. and nap, since my sleep schedule's going to be a bit skewed for tomorrow.
Mmmm, day off gooooood....
