I have no idea what's waiting for me at work this morning....how big the piles are, what got accomplished, what's still waiting for me...whether the postage meter works or not... My coworkers might be glad to see me, or might clamp a leg-iron on my ankle so I can never leave ever, ever again. There may be tears. Frustrated tantrums. Fisticuffs. Total and complete anarchy. I may have to pull a Fight-Club in the HR office. Or at least fake an epilpetic seizure.
Sedation is a distinct possibility....

But no matter what, I still have to go to work today. And I'm pretty sure it isn't gonna be pretty. I'd sneak an update at lunch, but my work-internet's been down for at least a week and nobody's been over to fix it. (I know our IS guy's really busy.) Arrrgh, I wish my work didn't have to be like this every time I take a couple of days off.
It starts up a negative reinforcement pattern that makes me reluctant to take time off, even when I need it or I'm sick. Works great for my boss, I'm sure. What would Mr Skinner suggest, I wonder? I could use a behaviorist; running my boss through a rat-maze sounds really apeealing right now. In fact, I think most of us would be up for that.

But before all this anxiety...I'm just sipping that tea there, no worries or anything...mmm, tea....

how big the piles are

It sounds like there will be big piles of something but it might not be paperwork....

The same thing happens to me when I go on vacation. The appraiser can pull his own information and do the reviews but then he leaves them on my desk until I get back. When I got back from my trip to LA last December, my desk was covered in finished reviews that needed to get logged into the system immediately. It made me so happy to get back to work that day...

That really sucks....it shouldn't have to be like this.
*sighs*

At least we're working, I suppose. I have friends who have been looking for work for nearly a year now. But this still sucks:P

I agree with you about the employment thoughts.I was unemployed for nearly a year before I got my current job so I ama always thankful to actually get a paycheck on a regular basis. It would just be much nicer if I was getting that check for doing something that I really truely enjoy.

yeah....just keeping your head above water isn't the same as having a nice boat:( Hopefully some day we can all do better....if the bastids in the White House will let us.

If I didn't have my "Hobbies" I'd probably go crazy. They're the only things these days that keeps me sane-ish.

That's what hobbies are there for thankfully. They can definately keep your mind away from some of your personal stresses and can help a person relax. About the doing better... One of the main reasons for my only serious New Year's resolution (putting $500 a month into my savings ever month) is to, by the end of the year, be more financially secure and have the start of a savings account. Then I can start building on it and make it even more.

I should save more myself...that's a good resolution.

*Knits furiously to relax*

Thanks for the good luck. I've been living too long paycheck to paycheck and just barely having any kind of savings. This will hopefully be the start of a very nice saving account. We'll see if I can keep it up. So far it's been one month out of twelve. : )

That sounds like a good plan to me. Save some money to start a new business then take the profits for that business and turn them right back into the business to help increase your business. Repeat until you're a millionaire and you business is huge. ; )

I like that plan:)

And I wouldn't have to go shopping around for places to exhibit; people could come to me instead.

With the right promotion and advertising, that could definately happen.
