Day 2 of 3 is ahead of me....
Aug. 17th, 2004 08:38 am...so I'm making notes and preparations, hoping my couple of days off go fairly smoothly. Relaxing is good. I did a lot of that last night. Knitting, reading, having a seance with my Devil-ducky in the bath, setting up my Ikea-lamp from Hell. (It's really kind of weird looking; like somebody lit up a bunch of IV tubes. I still like it...I even hung gaudy Ikea blue and green reflective things off it, just for that off-beat chandelier quality.)
The State Fair's a-comin' up.....two words: Corn Dog.
Awwwwwwyeah...and I like to go and watch the Happy-Go-Pukey and point and laugh.(Happy Go-Pukey--any number of assorted strange bungee-style rides where people pay to be bounced upside-down and spinning, screeching and watching their change go flying into space...)
Ah nuts, I hafta go...

Date: 2004-08-17 03:53 pm (UTC)My house was about a block from the end of the Snelling bus line, which went straight to the fair (no transfers needed). My best friend and I would go together and fully enjoy ourselves, the only problem being that she got sick on rides and so I'd have to go on my couple of favorites (Tilt-A-Whirl and the glorious double-barrel ferris wheel). My food favorites: fresh-out-of-the-oven Tom Thumb donuts and those lucsious malts from the Dairy Building. My booth favorite: Spin-painting (or whatever it was called). And I loved digging my hands into the sheep's wool. Oh, and.... no, I'd better stop, as my work day starts all too soon.
