My tum's feeling a little better...
Feb. 1st, 2005 07:11 amHuh...actually, it's doing much better.
*poke poke*
Still slightly rumbly, but not nearly as ouchy as yesterday...I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
I'm really glad to get January behind me....this was a hard month for so many people for so many reasons. Maybe February will be a chance for something better for everybody. I hope so. We all deserve a nice steaming cup of Good real soon, yes? I think so.
I was leafing through a new knitting magazine and stumbled onto something really cool... I've always liked the actress Karen Allen; she was in Raiders of the Lost Ark and Animal House and Starman...I was always wondering why we didn't see her much anymore on stage and screen. Turns out she's been--knitting!!
She's started a knitting couture company, where she works in cashmere mostly, and just started more machine-knit stuff fairly recently. There's a website listed, but I'm not sure if it's up yet...I'll put in the link anyway. Monterey Fiber Arts is the name. She teaches yoga, too...cooooooooool......
Little weird stuff like that makes me happy:)

Date: 2005-02-02 01:19 pm (UTC)Hmmm, twisted stitches, you say? I bet I can walk you through fixing that. the trick is all in which way you wrap the yarn around the needles, for knitting and purling. If you're wrapping the yarn one way when you knit, wrapping the yarn the other way when you purl will keep your stitches from twisting on you...I recommend Knitting for Anarchists; they show you the whole theory behind this whole twisting thing...
Socks are my faaavorite...Mamichan sent me a sock gauge generator so i can knit socks with whatever yarn comes handy...Hoohah!

Date: 2005-02-02 01:24 pm (UTC)and thank you for the advice on knitting. i will give it a go. i gave all of my knitting stuff away years ago. i will get 'knitting for anarchists'. my favorite socks are the ones crazy socks made from all the little balls of end pieces from prior knitting projects. yes. this is a fine thing for me to learn this year.
