I really don't mind:) today I was playing with the drop spindle I made out of an old AOL cd and a paper clip and a pencil. (I've signed up for spinning-wheel classes at my local foofy yarn shop, too:) I promise not to prick my finger and fall asleep for a hundred years.)

Heh...Mamichan called me last night to give me the skinny about the Inferno while I'm unavailable.
She told me some verrrrrrrry interesting things, she did. all of a sudden Mr. Sta-Puft has come over all solicitous, with an assistant for me to train when I come back and avuncular words about how much he appreciates my work. (Could it have anything to do with other isntitutions calling to check my references? Nahh, couldn't be.) Oh yeah...and he's got more duties for me, too. As a reward. *stifles evil giggling*...well, gee whilickers that just sounds super, but I think I'm just going to have to pick my own reward for work well done, don't you agree? *rubs hands vigorously* Mmmh-hmmm...I thought you might.

Like the song says... "Shoes don't stretch and men..don't..change" That probably applies to Mr. StaPuft. He just wants you to train your successor. Can you say "consulting fee?"

When 18 of us drivers were talking about leaving Allied Van Lines at the same time, we "suddenly" got all sorts of plum trips offered us. Coincidence? Nah. The corporate world stinks to high heaven.

That and/or it's a last-ditch attempt on his part for some kind of control...which is in character for the guy. Even though the big git practically ordered me to find somethingelse back in January, I've made a heavy effort to be as subtle about my job-hunting as possible...so I'm not sure how much he actually knows yet...

All I know? I'm getting out.

I agree, this is very similar...and even if they're starting to offer "more responsibility" I doubt it would come with a promotion or raise...which means there's no way in hell it would keep me from running like the building was on fire...
