Right now is the good part of my work day--my boss goes home, things have slowed down, and I can think about the deep, important things like what's for supper and do I have enough money to do laundry and
how I'm gonna rewire that damn fire alarm before the maintenance guys put my AC unit in. (it's a sensitive little critter, so I temporarily unplugged it so I could use my oven.) Living stuff, the thoughts that keep our lives running (sort of) smoothly. But right now dinner's the top of the list. Yummy yummy dinner, whatever you will be...

ODE TO DINNER

You may be pasta
you may be rice,
you may be a baked yam
with soy sauce and spice,
you may be a bagel,
you may be a stew,
or spring rolls or pizza,
my thoughts turn to you,
my soon-to-be-dinner
soup, noodles or curry,
just knowing you're waiting
will make my feet scurry
to market or vendor,
Ah, yes, no control!
Though lately my dinner's
those god-damn addictive pizzarolls...

Ms Eff, headed to the Farmer's Market for fresh veggies...and *NO* I mean *NO* pizzarolls for supper tonight!!!
