Early morning...*yawwwwwwn*
Jun. 20th, 2005 07:28 am...but today's gonna fly, for one very good reason:
Last night I went Ben the Neighbor and Petey's (Just back from Amsterdam) house for dinner, and when I got there Petey jumped up and yelled, "Ooh, ooh, we have something for Michelle, close your eyes!!!"
And when I opened them....there was a little single-tread spinning wheel, all for me!!!! I guess a neighbor had it in her basement and was getting geared up for a yard sale, and Petey's friend Rocky nabbed it for me since it was one of those "If you have a friend who can use this thing, take it out of my house!" sort of arrangements. I think it has a smallish part missing, but after a bit of research I found that there's all kinds of ways to buy extra bits--and all the important bits are definitely there....this is so cool!
Tomorrow at Knitting Night I should ask my friend Giselle to have a peek--she took some wheel-spinning classes, and can give it a once-over for me. I'm already madly in love, it's even got a name: Hester.
Oooooh dear, I am a completely unsavable knitting geek now....making my own yarn from scratch...you realize the next move is getting a sheep?
Beeeeeehhh.
