msfledermausI just finished checking the news some more...so many things to be horrified and heartbroken and, yes, angry about. Too much to go into, and a lot of it's covered by the other people on my friend's lists...
I can't even pick one thing about New Orleans to rant about, the whole thing is just so encompassing and hideous now.
And it's a beautiful day outside.
It's funny how used to tragedy we are, now. I've gone through the checklist: Everyone I know in the area okay? Check. New box of Kleenex? Check. Money ready to send to relief fund? Check. Commisserate with friends to feel a little better? Check. Big finger given to Those in Power for screwing things up even worse or not doing anything at all? Check check check. Trying to avoid the news unless it's necessary?
Uhhh...I'm reaching my saturation point. But I can't not know, either...
I'm wearing the Marie Laveau's House of Voodoo t-shirt I got from a friend today...I don't know why. I kind of feel a little stupid for it, really. But it's comforting on some kind of subconscious level...
