I was just darning on a button on my jacket and I (of course) stabbed myself under a nail by mistake with the needle.

Ow.

That seems to be par for the last 24 hours. I came home yesterday with a raging migraine and checked my phone messages. A friend of mine had called with some bad news of her own, and we talked for about an hour.
(Not the happiest thing in the world if you have a migraine going, but she really really needed someone to talk to...so I sucked it up. I think I'm going to have to burn my brand new "good luck" candle to the dregs this week for her; it's really unfair stuff going on there.) Most of yesterday evening I spent with my head buried under a pillow, full of Ibuprofin. But I'm better now.

Except for this finger.

I've often thought that the torture technique of "bamboo shoots under fingernails" sounded just awful. Your needle was a little taste of that.

At least it wasn't a knitting needle under teh fingernail. (kisses Ms.F's finger without infecting it)...

I thought that very same thing about the bamboo fingernails when I jabbed a sewing needle under my nails while tailoring a dress a few months back.
