When I was trying to sleep last night, some bimbo was running up and down the hallways of my apartment complex screaming, "EEEK, a BAT!"
"Yeah," I mumbled, "And it's trying to sleep, lady..."
Then more frenzied "Catch him, catch him" noises for another hour.
Poor thing, I keep telling my friends to call ahead, no wonder it got the wrong apartment...

Plus in the news I read that Kansas is doing the "Alternative to Darwinism" thing after all...*shakes head in sleepy dismay*

At least the mayor I voted for got elected last night, and bodysurfed the crowd at his victory party:)

Glad yer man won - different breed of Mayor's you have there - ours just stand around clanking their chains.

This link is *cool*, it's a comparative study of indicators of social "health" and theism and amongst it's conclusion are:

"There is evidence that within the U.S. strong disparities in religious belief versus acceptance of evolution are correlated with similarly varying rates of societal dysfunction, the strongly theistic, anti-evolution south and mid-west having markedly worse homicide, mortality, STD, youth pregnancy, marital and related problems than the northeast where societal conditions, secularization, and acceptance of evolution approach European norms"

I think Kansas has lost it's collective mind.

I was thinking of you this morning when I saw the following images on Rocketboom (http://www.rocketboom.com), my favorite video blog:

I'm betting you would probably stick to scarves, socks and other traditional knitting projects for the holiday season.

OOh, that IS a cool link...I think that's fairly accurate from what I've seen, especially in the American West and the southwest.

It's so frustrating to have to fight this thing over and over and over...we're really losing our scientific edge in this country, and this new ruling I suspect will guarantee we slip further:(

That reminds me of a week or two ago. I was flipping channels and I spotted this soccer player with "Bimbo" on his jersey in big letters. (It's a baked goods company based in Mexico. Hee.)

Who's you're mayor? Kindof realised after I posted that it might look a bit anti US, which wasn't the point. It was anti-god :)

Our mayor is R. T Rybak, on his second term now...DFL/Labor party.

Nono, I got what you meant right away...but right now, the US is in many was struggling with whether or not to really be er..."God's Country". It's like living in Bozeman, again... various nutjobs telling me who I can or can't love, what kind of birth control I should use (assuming they let me have any at all) which deity to worship wherever they feel like sticking a plaque and who I should vote for...It's scary these days, I don't mind telling you...
