I had an interesting day today...

...I spent today grilling things with Ben and Petey and Matt and Erin--and also my parental units. We had a really great time watching the chickens and the fledgling geese run around and honk for the asparagus we were cooking. It was an amazingly good Mother's day, even though I got given LOTS of pie filling. I mean, lots and lots, all kinds. Banana creme. Chocolate creme. Apple. Pie, pie pie. I don't even bake pie; what the great googaly moogaly am I gonna do with all this pie filling?!?
(Um, here's an idea: bake pie. I know it's crazy, but it might just work...)

This weekend's been weird, since these days I'm usually working. But good weird. I went a little nuts at the Farmer's Market, buying Useful Tasty Things. (Uhhh, not things that go in pie.) There's been knitting on tiny needles for some kind of sock-like thing. (Nope, it's not gonna be a pie cosy.) Various creatures have been running around, none of which fit in a pie tin unless I really squoosh them down a lot. And my brain feels kinda sleepy and dull, which I'm sure is just a severe pie shortage because I'm being stubborn about this whole Pie thing...

Weebl and Bob knows, I shouldn't turn my nose up at pie....Mmm, pie....

Hey, you know what? I had pie today! Mom brought over warm apple pie. You know what else? I had pie yesterday! Cyn and I took Emschin to Pikea for M-Day. I had apple pie (with ice cream and carmel)!

They're still fluffy babies, so they were too cute to grill with their silly little flappy wings... but they shouldn't get TOO comfortable, the greedy little fuzzballs:)
