*grabs a couple of Gummi Bears*
Jul. 26th, 2006 09:10 amYes, the parental units visited me again, and loaded me up with candy. I'm sharing with my cow-irkers, since there's no way a sole human can eat all these gummi bears and mints and such...*eats more gummis* I mean, it's really wrong to eat all this candy...*eats still more gummis* Murph wurble...*gulp*
My "weekend" was pretty interesting...full of things good and bad. Such as:
Lots of spinning this weird experimental stuff that looks like candy. Why does good yarn look like candy all of a sudden? *Looks at gummi bears* Oh.
My folks visiting--it went really nicely:)
I mailed off the creatures I made for someone, and that felt really good.
I also got "Paint it Black", the Voltaire book that centers on home decorating for the spookily inclined. Ooooh, ooh, you must get a copy, or two, or twelve! The baby doll-altering section alone is worth the $10.
There was some kind of death in my apartment building. I went out to mail some things and there were two police cars and the medical examiner next to a couple of crying girls. They were unloading a gurney, so I got out of there pretty fast and ran my errands, all the while thinking, "Ohhhhhhhh crap, those poor girls..." I still have no idea what happened; I think it's too early yet to ask the manager without feeling like a ghoul.
Knitting Night is back on Tuesdays, which is easier for me. Next time I'll call ahead to get us a guaranteed table, since the coffeeshop was packed last night.
I was having fun this morning painting the base coat for a new mixed-media piece I started last night. Lots of cool architectual bits I bought at an architectural renovation store are involved. (Gee, thanks Voltaire for kicking me in the creative butt again. Owwwww, my butt...)

Date: 2006-07-27 12:42 pm (UTC)Voltaire (http://www.voltaire.net/) is one of my heros....singer,comic book and performance artist, father, home decorator...funny, funny fellow who brings gloom and mirthyness to the dark and spooky nation.
Not quite as philosophical or wordy, but definitely good stuff:)
