I'm still scrubbing paint off my hands...
Dec. 30th, 2006 08:41 am...I'm almost done with a new piece for the guard art show coming up. This thing is ramping up pretty quickly, really. First it was a couple of pieces, then it was up to 5, now it's as many as can fit in an 8 foot space, along with sending a resume, art statement, all that lovely arty paperwork. I hate writing artist statements--nothing makes you sound more pompous than having to describe your work on paper. At least I have a decade of hanging around museums so I am mistress of the arty five-buck words. And I have to say it's nice to have work on a wall other than mine again for a little while:)
Anyway, our big opening is at the Stevens Square Community Center the evening of January 6th, and the show will run until Feburary 18th. I'll put up a link to their website later on today, after the caffeine kicks in and such.
Otherwise, all is well. I did get a scary doomy chill from seeing that Hussein was executed. I know he was a veeeeery bad man and whatnot, but nothing good can come of this, I fear...
