...Looks like it's pretty much assured that I'm one of the new union stewards. *gulp* I hope I do a good job...

And meanwhile the Beverage Dictator, our resident crazy person is gone today. Good. Last week he was harrasing me about helping him with the book he's been laboriously writing longhand about mosquitos that turn people into zombies. Because of a flip remark I made he assumed I was an expert on mortuary science. Yikes...
(I haven't the heart to tell him that apparently the movie,"The Cave" already does his premise. I just told him to try the local library.) Yesterday he was yelling and ranting in the boss's office because the show coordinator for the Guard Art show coming up didn't personally invite him to our opening. The sign for the show's been up for at least 2 weeks, and when I told Gail about it she told me that she did in fact tell him about the show when she was still looking for artists...I'm very glad I warned her about it before she sees the Beverage Dictator again. Sheesh. He's lucky in the extreme--any other place would have canned him ages ago.:/

But now I must eat toast and readjust my tie. More soon:)

Is the Guard Art Show open to the public and if so, for how long?

Congrats on the Steward thing.

My tribute, via Woody Guthrie and all the people he borrowed from:

Union Maid

There once was a union maid, she never was afraid
Of goons and ginks and company finks and the deputy sheriffs who made the raid.
She went to the union hall when a meeting it was called,
And when the Legion boys come 'round
She always stood her ground.

Oh, you can't scare me, I'm sticking to the union,
I'm sticking to the union, I'm sticking to the union.
Oh, you can't scare me, I'm sticking to the union,
I'm sticking to the union 'til the day I die.

This union maid was wise to the tricks of company spies,
She couldn't be fooled by a company stool, she'd always organize the guys.
She always got her way when she struck for better pay.
She'd show her card to the National Guard
And this is what she'd say

You gals who want to be free, just take a tip from me;
Get you a man who's a union man and join the ladies' auxiliary.
Married life ain't hard when you got a union card,
A union man has a happy life when he's got a union wife.
