I called in sick for workies today. Yesterday got very tense at the meeting I was at and I've been fighting back the tension headache ever since. I felt bad about doing it, but that's what sick days are for, right? And it was just awful, it hurt so much, and I was just angry and sad and frustrated; all of it...being a Union Steward ain't for sissies. I'm kind of a sissy, so I'm not enjoying it much lately:/ But at least I hae some backup, and a better meeting with Union peoples and such soon to see what kinds of constructive stuff we can do. It's better to know that there's something I can do about stuff like this, even if it's not much...

So I slept for 12 hours with the fan on. And I fed and watered Ben and Peaty's cats. Saturn is still out in the neighborhood somewhere, which bothers me. (It's a pretty safe island, and Saturn goes outside a lot in the summer. But I do worry.) I also got a chance to play the fun game, "Will the chickens eat _____________?" Today the blank was asparagus ends. The answer, as almost always, is yes, yes they do eat them...holy crap, do they ever eat them:)

I'm hoping today I can get caught up on some of the stuff I should have done yesterday that I didn't get to because my head hurt. I promise, lots of lying down with a cold cloth and ibuprofin. I'm already pretty doped up, in fact. But it would be nice to paint some trim today and put away a few things. And take a long nap. and watch the river go by...

There's always *something* when you're steward. My buddy R that did it for several years says he'd never consider going back to it. And he still works for the union!

Sounds like an awful situation. *coughs* I'm in an awful situation. *coughs* I realized what I'd forgotten about my old library job, which is where I'm working at again. *hacks* The ignorant and utter irresponsible ways of my co-workers. *dies*
