Sweet, sweet homeyness...
Jun. 26th, 2007 05:47 pm...After a good putter in the Rainy-day Craft Room I stopped in briefly on Peaty and the chickens and fed them onion stalks and pepper tops. Ben and Ms Kitty are off to Tool tonight, so Peaty's a Metal-widow this evening, poor lad. I invited him over for movies if he felt up to it, but alone is good right now too...especially since Peaty sent me back to my place with a dozen fresh eggs from the hens. So after a quick visit to the Friend's list I'm off to check out biscuit recipies. I don't have any yeast, but I've got all the goods for some kind of soda bread...just not the actual recipies.
To keep the homeyness theme going, I have a red and white checkered tablecloth on my kitchen table. It goes well with the monkey-with-fezzes salt-and-pepper shakers and the Pirate shelf. Friends have threatened me with a gingham apron if I keep this kind of thing up. I'll wear it, but only after a quick stop at Hot Topic for fake fangs and about 40 minutes with eyeliner or so...then I'll take lots of peeectures!! Bwahahaha!!! (Heh, it could be kind of cute in a sick, ironic kind of way...I could get a cherry pie and stud it with knives. I could have a big tiki drink in my hand. I could put dry ice in my soup pan in the background...the fun could be endless:))
Sooooo, yes, a four-day weekend has been a good thing for me. I've been more creative, relaxed and happy. Now tomorrow I go back to the slog. But tonight...sweet sweet relief and possibly baking. I'll have to dig out the pirate potholders I knit, wherever I put them...
