...Heh, I got a lot of turkey in the house.

This was an incredible weekend. I fed the Scraggits after several hours of basting and stuffing and stirring and fluffing and mashing and bubbling and sauteing a nice Thanksgiving feast. As I was cooking, Peaty called and said, "If you don't have enough food, we have some pheasant and goose pie and yak over here at our house!" Yak? Yak. *shakes head*

The boys are so funny...They each told their respective parents that they were having Thanksgiving over at the other parent's house, so they could stay home and watch AbFab reruns and cook for themselves and friends. I stopped by for some tinfoil to cover my cooking bird with and ended up with a couple of shots of slivovitz in me..."For medicinal reasons". I had to sweep snow and mash spuds to get it to wear off before the Scraggits arrived:)

This whole weekend was a blur of my house and Ben and Peaty's houses, with every available surface covered with food. They made me watch some episodes of Six Feet Under, (which I'm now fascinated by) and Rock of Love. (The lead singer for Poison?!? Eeeeeeew...I wouldn't take the guy on a bet, but it was kind of sickly funny to watch all these women fighting over the guy with the receeding-hairline-hiding bandana.)

Now I'm sitting on the couch, full of Chinese food. (I was getting a bit full of turkey. I suppose I could have made sweet-and-sour turkey...) I work tomorrow, but I have no complaints. Life is very, very, very good...

Skanks and Hos!

It's a lot like beef, but richer, somehow...the boys made a sheperd's pie sort of thing with it, deeeeelicious!

I suppose Iron Chef really is a distant memory now, if you forgot "turkey ice cream".

And your house smelled wonderful from all the cooking.
That's one of the parts I like.

Sounds delicious (AbFab, 6 Fteet Under, Slivovitz)... And good turkey, too... I can almost smell it. I lied once to get out of going home and I still feel guilty about it, almost 20 years later!

I basically stopped traveling for T day when I totalled my Toyota in St. Paul due to packed snow and no road crews salting...

Aw, man...

I'm glad you're staying off the roads for the holidays if that's the kind of luck you have!

My luck was to be assigned to a project that had me working on Wednesday, when I was supposed to be off, driving to Milwaukee for the TG weekend. Because of the delay, my excellent driving conditions became treacherous.

Those were the days before SuperDooperDoppler forecasts...
