It was annoyingly cold this morning. *siiigh* I sure do love my home state in the wintertime:p

Earlier today I was wearing:

Two pairs of socks.
One pair of legwarmers.
One pair of warm pants.
One pullover shirt.
One handknit sweater.
One smoke-ring (Sort of a detachable hood I knit myself)
One mohair scarf.
One huge Lopi hat.
One pair of gloves.
One big drapey coat that goes to my ankles.
One pair of flip-top mittens over that...

It took me 10 minutes to get out of all that and change when I got to work. Ah, the layered look. *snicker* At least I was warm enough walking to the bus stop...

I remember when we had to work moving furniture in mid winter, I'd be wearing a t-shirt, long sleeved t-shirt, sweatshirt, spring jacket and winter work jacket. Knit hat, wool socks with hand warmers in the toes, Colunbia boots, long underwear and jeans.
You can't move furnitre wearing lots of layers on your hands, so we mostly froze our hands.

Yeah, that's the tricky part of winter, keeping your fingers warm when your'e actually doing stuff. Maybe Nasa has some kind of fix? I'm thinking about those astronauts doing the spacewalk, and trying to get at things with big clunky gloves and a pair of pliers...

I compromised by thin gloves and flip-top mitts, so I could cover them when I could and use my fingers when I had to.

I'm trying to figure how you wear the hat, scarf and smoke ring at the same time.

Hat goes on first, then the smoke ring, which gets tucked under your jacket. Then the scarf goes over the jacket.
